We are proud to present our third consolidated Sustainability and ESG Report—and our second under the Hegelmann Division West banner. As part of the Hegelmann Group, a family-owned business rooted in strong values and a commitment to tackling our customers’ most complex logistics needs, we continue to pursue ambitious goals in environmental sustainability and social responsibility. This report highlights the strides we’ve made in 2024 and outlines how we are shaping a more sustainable and resilient future for the transport industry.

Throughout 2024, we witnessed the tangible benefits of embedding sustainability into the heart of our operations. At Hegelmann, we believe that forward-thinking and responsible practices not only enhance performance but also drive long-term, sustainable growth. By planning ahead, we are future-proofing our business while helping to shape a transport industry that supports global decarbonisation efforts and promotes inclusive, sustainable economic development.

The achievements we are most proud of in 2024 include deepening our understanding of the HVO market and our customers’ expectations, expanding our internship collaboration with the German Jordanian University, and continuing to support our Ukrainian colleagues and their families through relocation efforts.

These achievements underscore our dedication to climate action, social responsibility, and creating a workplace where people can thrive.

A message from our CEO

At Hegelmann, sustainability is not just a guiding principle—it is at the core of everything we do. As a leader in the logistics and transportation industry, we recognize our responsibility to drive the transition toward a cleaner, more sustainable future. This commitment is reflected in our investments in alternative fuels and clean technologies, which are shaping the evolution of our fleet.

Our strategy is clear: to accelerate the shift toward electric and low-emission vehicles, underpinned by science-based targets and a long-term vision for environmental responsibility. 

Achieving these goals is not a solo effort. It requires the collective energy, innovation, and determination of our entire workforce. Our people remain the driving force behind our progress—constantly pushing boundaries and championing sustainable solutions. 

However, meaningful change also demands bold action at the policy level. We call on global policymakers to move beyond drafting ambitions and toward implementing impactful legislation that truly accelerates progress across our sector and beyond.

A message from our Senior Sustainability Manager

I am proud on behalf of the entire Hegelmann team to present our 2024 Sustainability and ESG Report. This year, we have strengthened the core of our sustainability strategy, advanced our environment goals, and deepened our commitment to ethical business practice in all our activities as well as along our supply chain.

At Hegelmann, we believe long-term success is built on the alignment of environmental responsibility, social responsibility, and transparent governance. In 2024, we once again invested in the health of our people through targeted development programs and mental health care and made measurable efforts towards placing our carbon reduction efforts on science-based targets, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.

Though this report celebrates what has been accomplished in the past year, it also marks a milestone in our future direction towards ESG and due diligence. In preparation for 2025, we are excited to announce a new strategic partnership that will drive digitalization and artificial intelligence adoption of our sustainability functions. This partnership will enable us to build an innovative system of real-time supply chain monitoring, risk mapping, and auto-reporting on ESG and CSDDD. By embracing innovation and technology, we are positioning Hegelmann to be pre-emptive in meeting regulatory requirements, stakeholder expectations, and upcoming challenges in sustainability more effectively and more transparently.

Our path is far from over but through good partnerships, a vision for the future, and the dedication of our teams and partners, we are creating a more intelligent, more sustainable logistics enterprise for the future.
