Goal 13: Climate Action

Supplier engagement

By the end of 2024, Hegelmann strengthened its commitment to responsible business conduct by negotiating a partnership with a leading provider of digital compliance and sustainability solutions to deploy an advanced AI-driven compliance platform. This collaboration will provide us with:

  • Automated Risk Analysis: AI-powered screening of 3,000+ sources and 30+ certificate types to identify ESG, human rights, and corruption risks across our supply chain.
  • LkSG/CSDDD Alignment: Standardized questionnaires covering all 13 risk categories under the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG) and EU CSDDD, with real-time risk scoring and remediation workflows.
  • Supplier Engagement: A multilingual portal for suppliers to submit compliance data, coupled with automated reminders and case management for corrective actions.
  • Proactive Monitoring: AI news crawling and a complaint portal (26 languages) to detect substantiated risks, supported by preventive measures like training videos and audit-ready documentation.

This integration ensures end-to-end transparency, aligning procurement with LkSG/CSDDD requirements while advancing climate and human rights due diligence.

Hegelmann’s environmental sustainability efforts and responsibility extend beyond its operations. As we are committed to reducing our scope 3 emissions, we recognise the pivotal role our suppliers play in Hegelmann’s decarbonisation journey. That is why we engage our supply chain to collect sustainability data and provide training.

Supplier training

48% of our suppliers received training on topics such as environmental sustainability, occupational health and safety, and ethical sourcing, a 14% increase since 2022.

Supplier screening

100% of our suppliers were screened using environmental and social criteria, and 75% were audited based on sustainability criteria.

These initiatives highlight our commitment to tracking and measuring supplier related performance indicators. Only through collaboration can we drive emission reductions within the transportation industry.
