Governance & Management Systems

Hegelmann has established a Human Rights Policy that aligns with internationally recognized frameworks, including the International Bill of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. The policy covers key commitments such as the prohibition of child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking, ensuring a workplace free from discrimination and harassment, providing fair wages, benefits, and safe working conditions, recognizing employees’ rights to freedom of association, and fostering diversity and inclusion. While the company does not currently have a written HR policy or employee handbook communicated to all employees, it remains committed to upholding fair and ethical labor practices.

Accountability for human rights and labor standards is embedded at the highest levels of the company, where it actively engages with stakeholders, including employees, shareholders, communities, suppliers, contractors, governments, and unions, to address human rights concerns and uphold ethical business practices. Hegelmann prioritizes local engagement to resolve issues at the community level and collaborates with stakeholders who value honesty, justice, and respect.

To ensure compliance and continuous improvement, the company provides multiple reporting channels for employees to raise concerns regarding human rights violations, discrimination, or unethical practices. These include direct managers, local management, the Human Resources department, and an anonymous reporting mechanism. The policy and its implementation are reviewed regularly, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainable and responsible business operations.
